Burlington-Lula Cook Miles, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2016. She was a native of Alamance county and the wife of the late William Duward Miles.
Lula was a homemaker and member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Mebane where she sang in the choir for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth L. Miles and Bradley Miles both of Burlington; daughter, Sharon Owens and husband, George of High Point and seven grandchildren , fourteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sisters, Davadia Faucette and husband, David and Belvia Snow all of Haw River and a son-in-law, Danny Phillips of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Linda Phillips; parents, George "Bushy" B. Cook and Lula Byrd Cook; sisters, Agnes Cook and Erma Cook Raines; brothers, J.W., Carlos, Paul, Leroy, Luther and George Cook.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor J. E. "Chip" Sellew, Jr. and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm on Sunday, January 1, 2016 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
