Lucy Dale

Lucy Haynes Dale, age 80, of 2707 Jamestown Court, Burlington, passed away Tuesday August 5, 2008. A native of Danielsville, Georgia, she was the wife of 60 years to Albert Britten Dale, who survives; and the daughter of the late James and Ruby Gunter Haynes, Sr. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Charlotte. She is survived by her husband Albert Britten Dale, of the home; one daughter: Sheree Dale Crutchfield, and husband Lynn, of Burlington; one granddaughter: Jessica Crutchfield, of Raleigh; brothers: James R. Haynes, of Georgia; Tom Haynes, of Florida; sister; Mary "Shorty" Russell, of Kannapolis. She was preceded in death one sister: Roberta Floyd. Jessica was the love of her life and only grandchild. Lucy was a faithful and dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Charlotte, NC, and she worked for over 40 years in various departments at the church. Gardening was a favorite hobby, and she was the "Queen of Green Beans". A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7 11:00 am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Cummings, pastor of First Baptist Church Charlotte. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. at Charlotte Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory in Burlington from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday and at other times at the home of Jean and Vernon Garrison at 2411 Grand Oaks Boulevard in Burlington.
