Lucille Shaffer

Mrs. Lucille Woodford Shaffer, 82, of 2435 Moran St., Apt 6, died Saturday, May 23, 2009 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of failing health. Born in Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Louis Woodford and the late Josephine Ellington Woodford and was married to the late Joseph Eugene Shaffer. She retired from Kayser Roth Hosiery and was of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Shaffer is survived by her son, Joseph Eugene Shafer, III and his wife, Paula, of Prescott, AZ, and two grandchildren, Claire Shaffer and Benjamin Shaffer. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a sister, Evelyn Woodford Lineberry. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. James Rosser. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the home of Jo Ann Witherow, 1245 Lawndale Dr., Graham.
