Lucille Ray

Gibsonville- Lucille Surles Ray, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. She was a native of Wayne County and the wife of the late Thomas Leo Ray who died in 2002.
Lucille was a homemaker and longtime member of Friedens Lutheran Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Allen and husband, Wayne of Little River, SC and a son, Bobby G. Ray and companion, Lib Craven of Thomasville; six grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Snyder; husband, Thomas Leo Ray; parents, Coy Odies and Elma Thompson Surles; sisters, Helen Summerlin and Esther Godwin; brothers, Odies, Rowland, and George Surles.
A graveside service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 11:00am at Friedens Lutheran Church Cemetery by Rev. Bill Zima. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.
