Burlington, NC Lucille Cooper Denton, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at ARMC surrounded by her family. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of 33 years to James Craig Denton, Jr. who survives. Lucille retired from Alamance County Hospital and she was a lifetime member of Union Ridge Church. Survivors include her husband, James Craig Denton, Jr., of the home; daughters, Connie Smith of Burlington, Bonnie Hawkins and husband, Ken of Eden, Cheryl Massey and husband, Darrell of Burlington; grandchildren, Tammy Larry Grondin, Brandi Edward Mould, Johnathan Bambie Massey and Caleb Massey; great grandchildren, Steven Gammon, Aaron and Shaford Grondin, Zoe Mould, Malachi Massey; sisters, Sarah Ingle of Burlington and Hilda Averett of Mebane. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elwood Wright Cooper; her parents, Andrew Madden, Sr. and Nannie Trollinger Madden and her brothers, Ben, Harold and Junior Madden. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at Union Ridge Church by Pastor Dan Ficklin and assisted by Dr. James R. Rosser and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Other times the family will be at the farm located at 1526 Haw River Hopedale Road in Burlington. Memorials may be made to The Shriner's Children Hospital, 2001 S.
