Lucille Cates

Lucille Martin Maxine Cates, 70, of 238 Bradley St. passed away Wednesday March 8, 2006 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Charlie Euliss Grandpa Red Cates and the daughter of the late Dorsey Ballard and Vernie Lula Harmon Martin. Maxine was a native of Rockingham County, retired from Kayser-Roth after 34 years of service and of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include her daughter Deborah Debbie Brooks and her husband Danny of Burlington, granddaughters: Christine Presley and her husband John of Burlington, Sheena Brooks of Burlington, Kelly Ann Fitch and her husband Jason of Burlington, a grandson Lonnie Harris of Burlington, great grandsons Cale Presley, Grayson Presley both of Burlington, a sister Carolyn Doby and her husband Mike of Swansboro, NC, and a brother Jimmy Martin of Yanceyville. She was preceeded in death by her husband, parents, sisters: Alberta Solazzo, Annie Mae Florence and Lorena May. The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Larry Lamberth and Rev. Bill Skenes. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
