Lieutenant Claude Steven Harrison, NC Highway Patrol Retd. Claude Steven Harrison, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was a native of Gaston County and the husband of 54 years to Loretta Wagoner Harrison who survives. Claude was a fireman with the Burlington Fire Department before enrolling in Patrol School and he retired in 1990 from the NC Highway Patrol and was a veteran of the US Army serving as a paratrooper. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Greenville, NC where he was a Master Mason and Grand Lecturer. Claude was an avid golfer and a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Wagoner Harrison of the home; son, Gary and his wife, Debbie; daughter, Lynne and her husband, Dana and grandchildren; Brandy and Nora Grace and his brother, Gary Harrison of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cero Spergin and Grace Brawley Harrison Enos and his step father, William Buddy Enos; sister, Dorothy Jean "Dottie" Testerman. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Shiloh United Methodist Church by Rev. David Stark and Lucy Robbins a Duke Intern and Rev. Billy Jarrett of the NC Hwy Patrol, Troop D and burial will follow in the church cemetery with honors provided by the color guard of Troop D of the NC Highway Patrol. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of his daughter.
