Gibsonville – Louise Murray Howerton, 77, passed away at the Hospice Home on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at following several years of failing health. She was born on April 29, 1944 in Guilford County to the late Walter Marion and Ruby Alcon Murray, and was married to Edker Banks Howerton for almost 50 years.
Louise worked as a weaver at Burlington Industries for almost 40 years before her retirement. She loved working in her flower garden as well as traveling around the world with her husband. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Community Church for many years.
Survivors other than her husband, Edker Howerton include her sister, Judy (Steve) Wyrick; brothers, Clyde (Sue) Marray and Jerry (Judy) Murray. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty Justice and Dorothy Howerton and a brother, Clay Murray.
A Funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00am Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Shiloh Community Church by Pastor Scott Reavis with the graveside to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home.
