Mrs. Louise Cates Farrior, 80, formerly of Homeplace in Burlington, passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 at Rehab and Health Care Center of Graham after several years of declining health. Mrs. Farrior was born April 18, 1927 in Alamance County to the late Willie Columbus Cates and Pauline Evans Cates. She was the widow of James Hadley Farrior who preceded her in death. Mrs. Farrior worked for many years at The Christian Counseling Center. She had been a member of both Gibsonville First Baptist Church and Burlington Assembly of God and while living at Homeplace, attended Grove Park Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School and Bible Teacher most of her adult life. Survivors include three sisters, Joan Thompson and her husband Ralph of Gibsonville, Linda Mann of Gibsonville, and Deborah Boone and her husband Michael of Oak Ridge; two brothers, Winfred Cates of Welcome, and Donald Cates of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Esquiredo Cates Myers. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Gibsonville First Baptist Church by Howard Thompson, pastor of Burlington Assembly of God and Brian Ayers, pastor of Gibsonville First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Gibsonville City Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times the family will be at the home of Joan Thompson, 220 Circle Drive, Gibsonville. Memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
