Louise Doby Capps, 80, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020 at Coble Creek Healthcare. She was born on November 19, 1939 in Guilford County to the late Troy Lee Doby, Sr. and Bessie Lynch Doby and was the wife of 58 years to Archie “Andy” Marion Capps who survives.
Louise was a founding member of First Baptist Church of Whitsett and spent her life in service to the Lord. She was the church pianist for over 40 years and also served as a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, and choir member. She spent several hours every week preparing the floral arrangements for the Sunday services. She took great joy in being a wife, mother and friend. She was always active in her children’s and families’ lives and was known as “Aunt Lulu” by many of her nieces and nephews. Louise spent much time visiting the sick and shut-in, helping people in need, and talking with people when they simply needed someone to listen.
Survivors other than her husband, Archie “Andy” Capps, include her daughter, Amy Capps Cloer (Lee); a son, Allan Capps; grandchildren, Cassidy, Austin and Mackenzie Cloer; a sister, Viola Whitesell (Gaynor); brothers, Coy Doby and James Doby (Becky), sisters-in-law Linda Doby, Brenda Doby and Joy Doby, and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Louise was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Troy Doby, Jr. and Paul Doby.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Twin Lakes Coble Creek facility and Touched by Angels for their excellent care of Louise.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Monday, November 9, 2020 by Pastor Tim Stevens with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Louise will be available for viewing from 8:00am to 1:45pm Monday prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Whitsett, 7006 Burlington Rd., Whitsett, NC 27377.
