BURLINGTON- Mrs. Flora Louise Brown Davis of Durham died October 28, 2008 at the Carver Living Center in Durham after a brief illness. Mrs. Davis was born in Alamance County, the daughter of the late Russell G. Brown and Mary A. Brown. She was 82 at the time of her death. She is survived by her husband, Chester S. Davis of Durham, daughters Susan D. Clark and husband Buddy of Portsmouth, Va., Sherron D. Sizemore and husband Wallace of Durham, and son Wayne Brown and wife Gloria of Hendersonville. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Chad Clark of Portsmouth, Va., Donna Brown of Portsmouth, Va., David Sizemore of Vienna, Va., Brian Sizemore of Morrisville, and Tristan Brown of Hendersonville, and by one great-granddaughter, Melissa Brown of Portsmouth, Va. She is also survived by a sister, Alyse Tickle of Burlington and was preceded in death by two sisters, LaMonna Matkins and Winifred Toonce Matkins, and by two brothers R.G. Brown, Jr. and Fred Brown. Mrs. Davis was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church in Elon. She was a long time member of Braggtown Baptist in Durham where she enjoyed working with the childrens' Sunday School classes for many years. She was also a charter member of Three Rivers Baptist Church that recently merged with Edgewood Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Shallow Ford Christian Church in Elon at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2008 by Rev. Dr. S. Perry. Louise's family will greet family and friends in the church parlor following the service.
