Lottie Groeller

Lottie Lorraine George Groeller, 78, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family.  She was born on December 26, 1941 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joseph Thomas George and Lottie Croom George, and was the wife to George Anthony Groeller.  They would’ve celebrated 50 years of marriage on May 23rd.

Lottie was a retired elementary school teacher with the New York City School System.  Through her life she was a former employee with Fritzsche D&O and a homemaker for 14 years while her children were young.  Being involved with her children at school and volunteering when needed, she decided to get her masters in education and became a teacher.  Lottie was a 1965 graduate from Elon College; a member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church; she enjoyed crocheting, cooking, shopping, and traveling with friends.  Lottie loved family gatherings and she adored her grandchildren.

Survivors other than her husband, George include her son, Gregory “Greg” Groeller and wife, Belinda; a daughter, Adrienne Groeller-Holliday and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Gregory Groeller, Jr., Arianna Groeller, Della Holliday and Lilianna Holliday; sister, Marion Schurade and husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Mary Lopusniak; several nephews, nieces and cousins.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Charles Spomer with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Monday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory.
