Lorena Shoffner

Whitsett, NC Lorena Garrett Shoffner, age 80, of Mt. Hope Church Road passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Beacon Place. She was a native of Guilford County and the wife of John Thomas Shoffner who survives. Lorena retired from the News and Record in Greensboro. She enjoyed knitting and was actively involved in genealogical research. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John Samuel Shoffner and his wife, Pat of Liberty, Daniel Lee Shoffner of Whitsett, Thomas Philip Shoffner and his wife, Carla of Wylie, Texas; granddaughters, Amber and Shelly and a new great granddaughter, Persephone; brother, James C. Garrett, III of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Cicero Garrett, Jr. and Rosa Estelle Huffman Garrett and a sister, Rebecca G. Bost. A private memorial service will be held in Florida. The family request memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
