Lorena Coble

Mrs. Lorena Greeson Coble, 65, died Tuesday, March 8, at Moses H. Cone Hospital, due to complications following surgery. A native of Guilford County, she was born August 5, 1945, to Luther and Sallie B. Greeson. She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Greeson, and her brother, Connie Greeson. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, H. W. Coble of Whitsett; two daughters, Melinda Coble Pinson and her husband, Dr. Matthew Pinson, of Nashville, TN, and Kimberly Coble Shinn and her husband, Jason Shinn, of Julian; four grandchildren, Anna Pinson, Matthew Pinson, Jr., Cora Shinn, and Cason Shinn; her mother, Sallie B. Greeson of Whitsett; and one sister, Ruby Greeson Wright and her husband, Glenn, of Liberty. Lorena was a graduate of Southeast Guilford High School, class of 1963, Southeast's first graduating class. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ, in which she was very active. She retired from Burlington Industries corporate offices following more than 40 years of service. Throughout her life she always had concern and love for everyone. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Mt. Hope United Church of Christ with Dr. Matthew Pinson, Dr. Ken Clapp, and Rev. Lloyd Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, March 9 at Mt. Hope UCC, and at other times at the home of Kim and Jason Shinn, 5636 Baptist Assembly Road, Julian. Memorials may be made to The Jonathan Gerner Fund of Mt. Hope UCC, 2400 Mt.
