Lonnie Murray

Lonnie Walker Preacher Murray, age 81 of 2928 Union Ridge Rd., passed away at 7:15 AM Monday February 6, 2006 at the Hospice Wing of Moses Cone Hospital. A native of Alamance County, he was husband of the late Viola Ellis Tinker Murray and son of the late Claude Eugene and Ada Allen Murray. He was the retired minister of Richland Gospel Baptist Church in Liberty and a US Army veteran of WWII. He is survived by 9 children, Linda Wise and husband Mike, Susan Ryals and husband Dale, Tammy Long and husband Scotty, Wendy Perry and husband Jeff and Michael Murray and wife Nancy all of Burlington, Barbara Murray of Graham, Roger Murray and wife Chris of Cummings, GA, Diane Gormley and husband John of Dawsonville, Ga, and Kathy Deal and husband Wesley of Greenville, NC; 13 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday February 10, 2006 at the Harvest Baptist Church, 3741 S. Church St., by Rev. Larry Lamberth, Rev. Curtis Oakley and Dr. Tommy Willis. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the residence.
