Lois Lowery Hinely

Burlington – Lois Ellen Lowery Hinely, 72, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born on October 27, 1946 in Clio, SC to the late Willie Lowery and Vinnie Chavis Lowery and was married to the late Lewis Samuel Hinely, Sr. who died in 1994.

She retired from Burlington Times-News and she was a former Deputy Clerk for Guilford County for 14 years.

Lois is survived by her children, Renay Hinely Reel, Michelle “Candy” Hinely Tippins and husband Kevin, Lewis “Buddy” Hinely, Jr. and Cary Hinely and wife Lynette; step daughter, Debbie Griffin; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Smith and husband Smithey; brothers, Charles Lowery, Floyd Lowery and wife Peggy, Crawford Lowery, John Lowery and wife, Cathy; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a step son, Richard Hinely, brothers, William “Billy” Lowery and Larry “Tom” Thomas Lowery and a sister, Emmann Fledge.

The graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, July 14, 2019 at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Doug Durham.  The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2:30pm Sunday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory prior to the service and other times at the residence and at the son, Cary Hinely’s home in Elon.
