Lois Harris

Burlington, NC Lois Wilson Harris, age 89, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Orange County and the wife of the late Oscar Crump Harris, Jr. Lois was a graduate of the N. C. Baptist Hospital nursing program. She was a private duty nurse for Dr. Ellington in Burlington for several years and she later retired from Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church after over 30 years as an office worker and hostess. She was a longtime member of Hocutt Memorial Baptist Church, member of the Nell Sykes Sunday School Class and the WMU. She was also the Nursery Cordinator at the church for 50 years. Lois was a member of the Shallowford Community Club and the Shallowford Squares where she served as the secretary and treasurer. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Harris Neal and her husband, Tom of Aiken, South Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, Charles R. Harris and his wife, Sylvia of Burlington; grandchildren and spouses, Neil B. Harris and his wife, Shannon of Holly Springs, Lori H. Sartin Bruno and her husband, Jim of Boyertown, Pennsylvania; step grandson, Justin Bruno; great grandchildren, Coby L. Sartin, Garrett E. Harris and Riley R. Harris; sister, Ruth Lowe of Mebane; brothers, Ralph Wilson of Elon and Alton Wilson of Graham. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, LeRoy Coleman and Nettie Mincey Wilson; sisters, Eunice and Beadie Wilkerson; brothers, Roger, Herman and Leonard Wilson. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 11: 00 a.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 9:15 until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
