Lloyd Thomas Steelman, 88, of Hwy 87 North, died on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Yadkin County to the late Isaac W. and Cornelia Reavis Steelman and was married for 64 years to Mary Louise Steelman, who survives. He retired as manager of Boston Cleaners and was a member of Faith Bible Chapel, the Young at Heart Club at the church and a lifetime member of Woodmen of the World. He is survived by his wife of the home, daughter, Betty Cornelia Steelman of Raleigh; son, Isaac Ray Steelman and wife Barbara of Midway; grandchildren, Renee Steelman Long and husband Joel of Belmont, Mary Kathryn Romero and husband Juan of Raleigh, Elizabeth Deans of Chapel Hill, Rebekah Joseph and husband Josh of Charleston, SC; great grandchildren, Jake and Macy Long and a brother, Flay Steelman of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Howard, Vernon, Thad and Bronson Steelman. The funeral will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at Faith Bible Chapel by Rev. Mark Robertson with interment to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Bible Chapel, 1013 W. Webb Ave., Burlington, NC 27217 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
