Livvie Vann III

My husband, love of my life and best friend died Wednesday, July 25 due to complications after surgery. For the last 18 months we have been able to spend all our time together, only doing what we wanted to do. Some days that was just sitting in the sunroom while we read and watched the cats sleep and watch the birds and chipmunks. I will treasure that time forever.

Livvie was a retired pharmacist, working at Rite Aid in Graham when he retired. He was a lucky person who had a career of about 40 years that he loved. Every time we ran into past customers, they would always tell him how much they missed him. He loved everyone he worked with at RiteAid.
He was a devout Catholic attending Blessed Sacrament Church in Graham. Since retirement he went to mass most mornings and enjoyed his coffee time with the Grumpy Old Men's group after mass. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed working with the food pantry at the church.
Livvie is survived by his wife of 31 years, Becky Linnens Vann of Burlington. His 3 cats Pookie, Mookie and Jack. He loved them dearly and they gave him great love and joy in return. His son, Jason Vann and wife Edith of Burlington and their children Bridget and Madeline. He loved his beautiful grand-daughters and was very proud of them. His daughter, Stephanie V. Horth and husband, Justin of Greensboro and Livvie's first grandchild, his grandson Christian. He loved Christian and was proud of him always. When I look at Christian, I will always see Livvie's eyes and dimples. His children were with us when he passed.

Also surviving are his in-laws, Doug and Anne Linnens of Burlington. They were more like parents than in-laws to Livvie and he loved them. Surviving in Avondale Arizona are Becky's sister Anita Linnens Ayala and husband Tony, their daughters Alyssia and Deanna. Originally from Pensacola, Fl. Livvie leaves behind several cousins Jim Blake, Sue Grimsley, Linda Partrick and Sandy Moore and their families. Livvie graduated from Catholic High in Pensacola FL and leaves behind many friends from high school. Some of our best memories are from time in Pensacola.

He was preceded in death by his parents Livvie W Vann Jr. and Corene T. Vann. Livvie was born in Pensacola, FL in November of 1946.

A special thank you to Terry Fleming and Doug Mann for their friendship, love and guidance for the last 20 plus years. He loved you and was so grateful to you.

Livvie also loved Alabama Football with a passion. He would get so excited during games it caused chest pain and he started taking a Xanax before the games.

Livvie had a great relationship with God. He was not afraid to die. I know he wanted to stay with us, but I made sure to carry out his wishes after the surgery complications. He died lying beside me in his bed while I held his hand and rubbed his head. I hope heaven is everything he believed it to be. Rest in peace my love. I will love you forever. Thank you for the best years of my life.
