Linwood Jordan

Linwood E. Jordan, 82, of 719 S. Sellars Mill Rd. passed away Tuesday May 1, 2007 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Peggy Comer Jordan and the son of the late Jesse Caviness and Ulise Long Jordan. Linwood was born in the Cedar Grove community of Orange County, served in the U.S. Army during the Occupation of Korea as a 1st Seargent. He received several decorations for his service. After returning home he became an agent for Nationwide Insurance Company with forty years of service. Linwood was a member of Beverly Hills United Church of Christ for over fifty years and served as a deacon in the past. Survivors include his wife of the home, a son Jack E. Jordan of Hillsborough, a granddaughter Jacqueline Jordan, a grandson Lucas J. Jordan and a sister Mary Lou Faulkner of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Steven L. Jordan, Jay C. Jordan, and a brother Wilbur L. Jordan. The funeral will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Rosser Clapp and Rev. Emmet Floyd. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10-10:45 AM Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. prior to the service and at other times at the home.
