Yanceyville- Linda Butler Walker, 54, of 7979 NC 62 south passed away Wednesday, November 08, 2006 at the Hospice Home. Mrs. Walker was born on November 4, 1952 in Forsyth County to Dr. Radford Butler and Jane Butler and was married for 22 years to James Michael Walker. She attended Governor Morehead School in Raleigh through the tenth grade and then went to R. J. Reynolds high school where she graduated in 1972. Mrs. Walker furthered her education by completing her undergraduate at East Carolina University and then completed her masters degree at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She retired from the Division of Services for the Blind of Alamance County after 27 of service as a social worker. Linda attended Bethel Christian Church and was a member of the Mebane Lions Club and Alamance Council for the Blind. Survivors other than her husband and parents include a son John Lawrence Walker of the home; a sister, Cynthia Minor of Winston-Salem; three brothers and sisters-in-laws, Norman and Betty Butler and Dick and Lynne Butler both of Winston-Salem and Dale and Jackie Butler of Lewisville. A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday November 10, 2006 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with a visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance- Caswell 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
