Linda Thompson Hooker, age 68, of NC Hwy. 62 South, passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Memphis, TN, she was the wife of the late Herschel Keith Hooker and daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy Jean Lane Thompson. She was a former teacher in the Forsyth County School System. While living in Winston-Salem, she had been a member of Faith Christian Center and also Faith Assembly of God. After moving to Burlington in 2011 to be near her daughter, she became a member of New Covenant Fellowship. Survivors include her two daughters, Natalie Epps and husband, Sam, of Alamance and Kristy DeWalt of Greensboro; a brother, Steve Thompson and wife, Susan, of Springville, TN; three grandchildren, Austin DeWalt, Blake Isaacs and Christopher Epps. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Arthur Gene Thompson. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, September 22, 2013 at New Covenant Fellowship by Rev. David Neff. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Hooker will remain at Lowe Funeral Home until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will host a reception and receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 5-7pm Saturday.
