Linda Faye Madren Apple, age 70 of Basin Creek Rd. passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Myrtle Boswell Madren. Faye was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Christi an Church where she was the custodian for many years. She had a passion for the young people at the Church and enjoyed teaching them about God. Faye also served in many other capacities in the church and community. She was a charter member of Alamance Piecemakers Quilting Guild. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Wayne Apple of the home; daughters, Brenda Zachary and husband Doug and Kathy Apple, all of Burlington; granddaughters, Cameron and Jordan Zachary; siblings, Harold Madren and wife Geynell, Wylline Garrison and husband Earl, Clyde Madren and wife Pat, Jack Madren and wife Glenda, twin sister, Kaye Wrenn and husband Carl and Larry Madren and wife Cheryl. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, October 12, 2014 in the Bethlehem Christian Church by Rev. Todd Felkel, senior pastor, assisted by Rev. Dave Gilbert and Rev. Matt Smith. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Church Cemetery. Mrs. Apple will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 3-6pm Saturday and at their residence at other times. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethlehem Christian Church, P.O. Box 127 Altamahaw, NC 27202 or the charity of your choice.
