Lilly Ward

Lilly Jane Murphy Ward, 68, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Hospice Home. She was born in Chatham County to the late James Edward Murphy and the late Rachel Elizabeth Canady Murphy. Lilly retired from Alamance Memorial Hospital and attended Ebenezer United Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Randy Pruitt, Shelia Fitzgerald, Kara and Neal Overman; 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and sisters, Margaret Deal and Peggy Wolsfelt. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Winfred, Tommy, Bobby and Doug Murphy. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 20, 2014 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dr. Larry Covington. The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30pm to 1:45pm prior to the service and other times at the daughters' home, Patricia Pruitt.
