Mrs. Lillie Elizabeth Sutton Brown, 89, of 3121 Huffine Mill Rd. died Friday, June 8, 2007 at Beacon Place after several years of failing health. A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Onnie Sutton and the late Mary Ida Payne Sutton and was married to the late James Vadis Brown, who died in 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of Twin Oaks Church. Mrs. Brown is survived by a daughter, Bernice B. Woodlief and her husband, James, of Elon; six sons, Levon Brown and his wife, Christine, of Gibsonville, Larry Brown of Gibsonville, Willard Brown and his wife, Carolyn, of Gibsonville, Curtis Lee Brown of Greensboro, Boyd Brown and his wife, Donna, of Rockville, IN, and David Brown and his wife, Janice, of Whitsett; 37 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Gerringer of Elon, Alene Warren of Burlington and Mary Lou Long of Clearwater, FL; and one brother, Lenneous Sutton of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Donald Ray Brown; two sisters, Doris Wilhit and Opel Jones; and four brothers, Rev. Thomas Sutton, O.B. Sutton, Garland Sutton and Gilmer Sutton. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, June 11, 2007 at Twin Oakes Church by the Rev. Tommy Scronce and Dustin Brown. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday afternoon at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home of the son, David Brown, 1730-A Rock Creek Dairy Rd.
