Gibsonville- Lillian Carleen Barber Hackett, 96, of 6810 Tickle Rd. passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hackett was born November 18, 1910 in Guilford County to the late Charlie Vester Barber and Ella Pettigrew Barber. She was the widow of the late John Henry Hackett who preceded her in 1970. She was former owner and operator of Hacketts Store for more than 50 years and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church. Survivors include a daughter, Carole Hackett Smith and her husband Curtis of Gibsonville; daughter-in-law, Edna Jo Hackett of Gibsonville; three grandsons, Claude Smith and his wife Tamara, Craven Smith and his wife Kim, and Randall Hackett and his wife Gwyn all of Gibsonville; and five great grandchildren, Ryan Hackett, Camron Smith, Collin Smith, Cooper Smith and Conner Smith. She was preceded in death by a son, Worth Hackett who died in 2002. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Apple s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. C. Allen Myers, III and Rev. Don Ledbetter. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
