Lester Smith

Mr. Lester Hardin Smith, 86, of 6644 Cotton Rd. passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Moses Cone Medical Center. Mr. Smith was born September 13, 1920 in Guilford, County to the late B.C. Smith, Sr. and Roxie Smith. He was the husband of the late Pearl Smith who preceded him in death in 1988. Mr. Smith was a retired farmer and carpenter and was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son, James Smith of Gibsonville; four grandchildren, Dean Smith, Gayla Hill, Michelle Reed, and Michael Smith; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Bell Cash of Gibsonville, and Thelma May of McLeansville; a half-brother, Pete Smith of Yanceyville. He was preceded in death by his wife, son, Voight Smith, Brothers B.C. Smith Jr. Percy Smith Sisters Effe Little and Lilly Little and parents. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. today at Friedens Lutheran Church by the Rev. Delmer Chilton. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
