Leonard Wolfe

Leonard Lester Wolfe, 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at the Hospice Home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 26, 1927 in Randolph County to the late Ramelus Lester Wolfe and Francis Elizabeth Williams Wolfe and was the husband of 34 years to Sherby Jean Cranford Wolfe who survives.

Leonard retired as the owner and operator of the Hopedale Convenience Mart and was recently employed with Sumner Automotive. He was a charter member of the Mustang Club of America, member of the Gate City Triad Mustang Club and enjoyed NASCAR.  Leonard was a longtime member of Nall Memorial Baptist Church.

Survivors other than his wife, Sherby Wolfe include his son, Richard Wolfe and wife, Debbie of Burlington; step daughters, Jean Routh and husband James and Teresa Ann Shaw and husband Kevin all of Graham; step sons, David Charles Nelson and wife Monica of GA, Douglas Michael Nelson and wife Debbie of Benson; grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Owen and husband Travis, Justin Charles Nelson all of Burlington; great grandchildren, Steffi and Liam Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Younger of Gibsonville.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday, April 19, 2019 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dr. Wade Cox with the burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
