Mr. Lenwood Eugene "Skinny" Clark, age 91, formerly of Woodland Ave., died Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health. Born in Tarboro, NC, he was the son of the late Jesse Andrew Clark and the late Glenda Parker Clark and was married for over 61 years to Mrs. Helen Johnson Clark, who survives. Mr. Clark was a U. S. Army Veteran of WWII and served under General Patton in Germany. He was a longtime textile worker, where he served in management, and eventually retired from Sale Knitting. Mr. Clark was very active in East Burlington Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder, and he later attended Westminister Presbyterian Church. Skinny enjoyed traveling with his family and spent many of his retirement years at the coast. Mr. Clark is survived by his wife of Burlington Manor; five children, Lynne Worth and her husband, Hal, of Raleigh, Tracy Johnson and her husband, Tim, of Burlington, Kim Clark and his wife, Beth, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Louann Reavis and her husband, Charles, of Burlington and Jennifer Smith of Burlington; and six grandchildren, Jason Laughinghouse, Bradley Johnson, Alex Johnson, Katie Coleman, Jackson Clark and Greyson Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jesse Keaton Clark. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 11, 2011 at Lowe Funeral Chapel by Rev. Powell Sykes. The family will receive friends following the service.
