Lela Lucas

Lelia Elizabeth Boone Lucas, 90, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Heartland Living and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Guilford County to the late Joseph Addie Boone and the late Lydia Cook Boone and was married to the late Ike F. Lucas. Lelia retired from Burlington Industries after 40 years of service. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church. Survivors include her sisters, Margaret Boone Smithey and Betty Boone Brady both of Burlington; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and eight brothers and sisters. The graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Alamance Memorial Park by Rev. Jack Lemons. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215. Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the Lucas family.
