Leftrich Ayers

Leftrich Flemon "Buddy" Ayers, age 86, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at V.A. Hospital in Durham.
A native of Carroll County, Va, he was the son of the late Chester and Emma Anis Ayers and later raised by Lewis and Mae Ayers.
Buddy was employed by Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. for 13 years and retired from Burlington Industries Williamsburg Plant. He was active in Gideons International, was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was formerly a member of New Hope Baptist Church and presently a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church. He was proud that he had perfect church attendance for 34 years.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Eloise McGowan Ayers of the home; children; Diane Simmons and husband Randy of Wake Forest, Dennis Flemon Ayers and girlfriend Sandra Neal of Graham and Sherry Davenport and husband Phil of Wilmington; grandchildren, Nikki Simmons, Sydney Simmons, Bruce Ayers and wife Jennifer, Jesse Ayers and girlfriend Jessica Riley, Olivia and Christopher Taggart, Graham Davenport and girlfriend Samantha Stone. Great Grandchildren Cassie and Nathan Ayers. The family would like to recognize special friends, Tiffany, Stephanie, Bella, Jayden, Keith, Mike, Teresa, Ashley, Michael and Dwayne, Peaches, Darryl, D.J. and Myra. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Ruth Maness, Burton Ayres, Joe Ayers, Loretta Ayers, Bryson Ayers, Jesse Ayers, Clinton Ayers, Fader Ayers and Orlean Baldwin.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, December 14, 2016 in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Brandon Rouse, Rev. Tommy Willis and Rev. Randy Hobbs. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mr. Ayers will remain at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory through the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 6-8pm Tuesday.
