Gibsonville, NC Leftedge Norfleet "L.N." "Tuck" Tucker, age 82, of 1109 E. Joyner Street went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Wesley Long Community Hospital. He was a native of Rockingham County and the husband of the late Betty May Tucker. L. N. retired from the City of Burlington as an Electrical Inspector. He was also a retired fireman with the Gibsonville Volunteer Fire Department. L.N. served with the rank of Sergeant First Class in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of McLeansville Baptist Church and the VFW Post # 2972 in Gibsonville. He was also a member of the Alamance Seniors Golf Association for many years. Survivors include his daughters, Donna Keck and her husband Mark of Mount Airy, Sheri Small and her husband Jim of Randleman; son, Larry Tucker and his wife Beverly of Jamestown; grandchildren, Jennifer Strickland and her husband Evan, Jonathan Small and his wife Rachael, Mark Keck and his wife Debbie, Jason Keck and his wife Amy, Jeffrey Keck and Leah Tucker; twelve great grandchildren; brothers, Bob Tucker of Hawthorne, Florida, Otis Tucker and his wife Cindy of Altamahaw and Carl Tucker and his wife Betty of Gibsonville. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, Bell Leftedge and Alva Tuggle Tucker; sister, Nancy Rhodes. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gibsonville City Cemetery by Dr. Jack Lemons and Preacher Larry Tucker. Military honors will be provided by the 82nd Airborne Division. The family will receive friends at the home on Thursday and the body will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until time for the service. Memorials may be made to McLeansville Baptist Church, c/o The Building Fund, P O Box 197, McLeansville, NC 27301.
