Lawrence Rella

Lawrence Anthony Rella, 76, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, May 10, 2021.  He was born on January 26, 1945 in Seattle, Washington to the late Anthony Dominick Rella and Orpha Baker Rella, and was the husband of 52 years to Rosemarie Tanzillo Rella who survives.

Lawrence retired as the Master Head Gardner at the Botanical Gardens in New York.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a noncommissioned officer in the Vietnam War, and continued with the New York Army Reserve.

He enjoyed beach trips with his family and was a collector.  Lawrence was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and uncle, who will be dearly missed.

Survivors other than his wife, Rosemarie Rella include his son, Anthony Rella and wife Rebbeca; a daughter, Nicole Richardson and husband William; his grandchildren that he adored, Emma, Sophia and William Richardson; a brother, Donald; sister-in-law, Patricia Baker and husband Desmond; several nieces and nephews, and two special nephews, Paul and Christopher Locurto and their families; and his canine companion, Storm.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruby.
