Burlington-Lawrence Gordon Van Horn, Sr., 92 passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was a native of Philadelphia, PA and the husband of the late Nancy Hope Gardiner Van Horn who died in 2002.
Lawrence was a retired business professor from Rutgers University. He served in the US Army during WW II in the Pacific Theatre and was a member of the Coast Guard Axillary. He spent many happy hours on the water in his sailboat. Lawrence was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Survivors include his children, Lawrence G. Van Horn, Jr. of Tinton Falls, NJ, Marcia Welsh and husband ,James of Westchester, PA, Ted Van Horn of Dorset, VA and Patricia Cary and husband, Christopher of Gibsonville; twelve grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents, Theodore Harvey and Lulu Earl Van Horn and three brothers.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to SPCA of The Triad, P O Box 4461, Greensboro, NC 27404.
