Laurie Ann Coble, 55, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at her home. A native of Alamance County, Laurie was born on September 26, 1962 to her loving mother Judy Ann Moize Truitt who preceded her in death. Her surviving parent, Howard "Buck" Truitt of Elon, selflessly cared for her and her three siblings like they were his own.

Laurie was a graduate of the Rockingham Community College BLET program. She earned her Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Alamance Community College where she was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Laurie dedicated her life to public service through an extensive career in law enforcement. She was employed by the Burlington Police Department as both a telecommunicator and police officer. Laurie also served as and retired as a deputy sheriff with the Alamance County Sherriff's Department.

Beyond the role of public servant, Laurie was cherished as a sister, aunt, mother, and grandmother. She was relentless in showering her family with unwavering love and support, even whilst in the midst of her own health battles. She had a zest for life and a passion for happiness that she would want to encompass her legacy…and ensuring that her lipstick looked good!

Survivors include her stepfather, Howard "Buck" Truitt of Elon; daughter, Kimberley Coble of Elon; son, Logan Mansfield of the home; grandson, J'Den Davis; granddaughters, Haleigh Davis, Anaiya Davis, Kayli Elliott, and Zora Newman; sister, Aline "Scooter" Goodman of Belmont; brothers, Howard Skenes, Jr. of Elon and Jerry Skenes and wife Barbara of Greensboro; father, Rev. William Howard "Bill" Skenes as well as numerous extended family and friends.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Andy King. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Aline Goodman, 4153 S. NC Hwy 49 in Burlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Donations Processing Ctr., 1710 Gilbreth Road , Burlingame, CA 94010-1795.
