Lauren Chandler

Lauren Joy Chandler, age 22, of 9754 Highway 119 North, left this world to begin her heavenly journey on September 28, 2011. A native of Caswell County, she was the daughter of Karen Butler Chandler and Donnie Chandler. In 2007, she graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School as a N.C. Scholar. She was President of the FTA Chapter and active in the FFA serving as an officer at the local and district levels and participating on numerous teams. She attended UNCG and graduated from Greensboro College with a degree in Elementary Education in May 2011. Lauren was a part-time employee of North Village Pharmacy of Yanceyville for several years. She was a member of Griers Presbyterian Church and a volunteer with the Women's Auxiliary of the Providence VFD. She was employed with Person County Schools as a fifth-grade teacher at Helena Elementary. This was the realization of her dreams and a reflection of her loving and caring spirit. Survivors include her mother, Karen Butler Chandler of the home; father, Donnie Chandler of Yanceyville, brother, Landon Chandler of Angier; special friend Kenneth Everett of Providence; aunts and uncles Sharon and Cecil Butler, Donna and Fred Kimbro, June and Graham Dailey, Debbie and Gary Chandler, Joyce Chandler Willis and Barry Chandler and 15 first cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Minnie Margret Butler and Thomas Wilson and Swannie Chandler. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Griers Presbyterian Church by Pastor Richard LaDew and Vernon Massengill. Internment will follow at Hebron Methodist Church on Hwy. 119 North at Hightowers. Miss Chandler will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until being taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at Lowe Funeral Home from 5:30 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
