LaRue Lindley McDaniel

Burlington – LaRue Lindley McDaniel, 97, entered into the pearly gates of Heaven to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2022. She was born in Chatham County and was the daughter of the late Marcellus Levi Lindley and Lillian Nall Lindley. She was married for 44 years to the late Clyde C. McDaniel.

She was a long-time member of Glen Hope Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Burlington Industries and AT&T. LaRue loved working outside in the yard, planting flowers, sewing, and cooking Sunday lunch for her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Celeste McPherson and her family, Jennifer Wood Halacheff and Amanda Jo McPherson, and two great granddaughters; daughter, Connie Roupe (Frankie Shambley) and her family, Lindsay Roupe Abrams (Ryan) and Courtney Elizabeth Roupe and one great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a brother, Ronald Lindley.

Thank you to all the kind and caring people with Compass Healthcare and AuthoraCare that took such great care of LaRue during her brief illness.

A service to celebrate her wonderful life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 8, 2022, on LaRue’s birthday, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Bob Stephenson and Rev. Fred Treadwell. The family will receive friends from 12:45 – 1:45 Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home. The graveside service will be private.
