Larry Summers

Larry Elmore Summers, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at AuthoraCare Hospice Home of Alamance. He was a native of Guilford County and the son of the late Loulin Elmore and Lallah Gladys Andrews Summers.

Larry retired from the Field Forces of Western Electric/AT&T and travelled the world with his job. He was dedicated to his family and neighbors, willing to help in any way he could and was always there when needed. He loved his grandchildren, playing golf with his buddies, and watching UNC basketball and the Yankees.

Larry is survived by his wife, Eleanor Allen Summers of the home; daughter, Kathy Mack of Evans, GA and son-in-law, Mitchell Mack of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren: Kory Mack of Boston, MA and Michaela Mack of Gibsonville, NC; brother, Gary Summers and wife, Judy of Titusville, FL; sisters: Gail Thompson and husband, Richard of Gibsonville, NC, Sara Boyer and husband Rod, of Rathdrum, ID, and Louanne Summers of Burlington, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church officiated by Pastor Dave Johnson and Rev. Allen Myers. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family requests casual attire and masks for the indoor services. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Apple’s Chapel from 1:00pm – 2:00pm, other times at the home.
