Larry "Slim" Warren

Larry Lee “Slim” Warren, 73, was called home by the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2019.  He was born in Alamance County on July 7, 1946 to the late Otis Franklin and Iva Mae Robertson Warren and was the husband of 48 years to Starlett “Star” Walker Warren who survives.

Larry was a US Army Specialist IV, 97th Transportation Company, Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam and was an expert marksman.  A lifelong farmer who took great pride in his work, he truly loved working the land and caring for whatever was planted.  Larry never met a stranger and was a very good friend to many, you could depend on him to be there whatever the need was.  He enjoyed deer hunting, NASCAR racing and wrestling.

Survivors other than his wife, Star Warren of the home include his brother, James Woody Warren and wife, Myra of Burlington, who shared a longtime farming business relationship; a niece, Linda; nephews, Michael and Neil Warren; sister-in-law, Carol Warren and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Franklin Warren.

Larry requested no funeral services to be held.  The family is planning a private burial at Long’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery at a later date.
