Larry Ray

Elon - Larry Eugene "Pete" Ray, 71, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was born in Alamance County on August 23, 1945 to the late Franklin Pierce and Myrtle Mozelle Ray and was the husband of 42 years to Rosemary Ray of the home.
Pete worked for Bill Ingold Burlington Lincoln/Honda for over 25 years. He attended Harvest Baptist Church, enjoyed working in his yard and vacationing at the beach where he would spend hours searching for shark teeth. He was a devoted husband and father and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of the home; daughters, Robin Ray Weston and husband Jim, Christine Ray Garrett and husband Nick; grandchildren, Trey Weston, Brittany Weston, Kohl Garrett; brothers, Bill Ray and wife Celia, Joe Ray and wife Linda, Don Ray and wife Leona; sisters, Jean Berry, Nancy Griffin and husband Don and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Laura Catoe.
A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Harvest Baptist Church by Pastor Larry Lamberth with the burial to follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Ray family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harvest Baptist Church, 3741 S Church St, Burlington, NC 27215.
