Larry Nichols

Mr. Larry William "Bunk" Nichols, age 82, of Burlington, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his home after several months of failing health.
Born in Efland, NC, he was the son of the late Eulas Long Nichols and the late Roberta Stewart Nichols and was married for over 61 years to Mrs. Ellen Swink Nichols, who survives. Bunk was the owner of several automotive dealerships, including High Point Nissan, Nichols Dodge and Reidsville Nissan and was also the owner of CV Products of Thomasville and a real estate developer. He and Ellen were longtime members of Bellemont United Methodist Church. Bunk loved his Lord, his family and his church.
Mr. Nichols is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Perry Nichols and his wife, Lisa, of Burlington and Kyle Nichols and his wife, LeAnn, of Greensboro; a granddaughter, Elena Nichols; three sisters-in-law, Frances Nichols, Betty May and Glenda Bivens; and several nieces, nephews and special cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Emma Lee Hodgin; and two brothers, Stewart Nichols and Andrew Nichols.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, July 17, 2017 at Bellemont United Methodist Church by Rev. Farron Duncan. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 - 6 Sunday afternoon at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
The family would like to extend a special thanks for all the loving care given Bunk by his caretakers, Della Nickerson, Neta Davis, Sharon King and Nora Gilchrist.
