Larry King

Larry "LK" Raymond King, 68, passed away Tuesday at Cone Hospital following a brief illness. He was born December 25, 1947 in Alamance County to the late Edward Herbert King and Inez Cantrell King who survives. He was married to Denise Whitley King for 46 years. Larry had served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church. He with his father started King Auto Repair in 1972. Larry and his son Brian transitioned the business into King Machine Shop. Larry began racing in 1978. He loved all aspects of racing from engine building, owning and driving. He won over 100 races including four track championships over his career. He loved his Lord, family, racing and his two shih tzu's Gracie and Panda..
Survivors include his wife, Denise; son Brian King and wife Christine; grandson, Tony King; mother, Inez C. King and brother Jerry King and husband, Doug Brisbois. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy R. King; father, Edward H. King.
The funeral will be held 1:00 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Pegg. There will be a private family interment. The family will receive friends 11:00 AM - 12:45 PM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home prior to the service and at other times at the home of his mother Inez King, 3237 Wilson Dr., Burlington.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Kinnett Memorial Baptist Church Building Fund, 1106 E. Morehead St., Burlington, NC.
