Larry Selden Jordan, 75, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Duke Medical Center surrounded by his family after several years of failing health. He was born in Alamance County on May 12, 1939 to the late Conrad Homer "Bo" Jordan and the late Opal Whitesell Jordan and was the husband to JoAnn Rowland Jordan of 53 years, who survives. Selden retired from Eldon Specialties. He was the president of Machine and Manufacturing Company from 1970 to 1991 and was a former employee with The Burlington Flying Service. Selden enjoyed volunteering with Hospice, going fishing, gambling, and entering his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air in car shows and driving in parades. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Survivors other than his wife, JoAnn include his daughters, Joanna J. Burton and her husband, Derrick, Tina J. Tadros and her fianc, Anthony "Gypsy" Wheeler; granddaughter, Madison Jordan Tadros whom he adored; step granddaughters, Christina Gross and Elizabeth Burton; step great granddaughter, Amelia Gross; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jack Bradley; nieces and spouses, Vickie and Wayne Rich, Nancy and Steve Durek; nephew and spouse, Richard and Laurie Bradley. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Curtis Jordan. The funeral service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. David Ealy with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
