Larry D. Dickey, 74, of 836 Creek Crossing Trial passed away Monday, March 23, 2009 at Wesley Long Hospital. Mr. Dickey was born December 15, 1934 in Alamance County to the late Clarence Dickey and Annie Mae Dickey who survives. Larry was retired from the financial business and was the former owner of the Money Shoppe of Graham. He was of the Baptist faith, was a member of the Lender's Association, served in the U.S. Navy, and he was an avid Duke fan. Survivors other than his mother include his wife, Linda Sue Dickey of the home; two children, Dale Dickey and wife Shelia of Graham, and Elaine Barnes and her husband Pete of Wilson, N.C; step-children, Sandy and Tim Sanders, Lori and Neil Boone, Robin and Tim Murphy, and Chuck Garner all of Graham and Lisa Leathers of Roxboro; sisters, Sylvia Boswell and her husband Bill of Burlington, Carolyn Lawson and her husband Ronnie of Graham; and a brother, Tim Dickey of Chicago; twenty- two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; nine great nieces and nephews; three great- great nieces and nephews. Mr. Dickey was preceded in death by a son, Greg Dickey. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bennie Smith.
