Kiwana Whitaker

Elon, NC Kiwana Anderson Whitaker, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Twin Lakes Memory Care Center. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of the late Ed and Lottie Jones Anderson. Kiwana worked in Textiles for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church and a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her son, Gary Whitaker and his wife, Sherri of Elon; grandchildren, Craig Whitaker, Tonya Croxton, Todd Whitaker and Tosha Chapman; great grandchildren, Taylor Croxton, Derrick Croxton and Jacob Chapman. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Danny C. Whitaker. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Dr. Sue Perry and the burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home and other times at the home Memorials may be made to Loaves and Fishes Christian Food Ministry, Inc., 128 W.
