Kevin Smith

Kevin Wilson Smith, 59, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Duke University Hospital. He was born January 15, 1956 in Alamance County to the late Woodrow Smith and Frances Wilson Smith who survives. He was married to Lisa Oakley Smith for twenty-five years. Kevin was an artist in every way, he loved music playing and writing his own songs on his guitar. He restored antique furniture, as well as, being able to draw and paint, there was very little he could not do. Kevin had a magnetic personality that drew people to him. He never met a stranger and was always glad to see you. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of the home, his mother of Elon, daughters; Carly Presnell and husband Chris of San Francisco, CA, Brandy Brown and husband Jonathan of Burlington, Sarah Winiarski and husband Nick of Boston, MA, a son Matt Smith of Newport News, VA, grandchildren; Gavin Nicholson, Miloh Brown, Garrett Smith, Jaxin Smith, a brother Eric Smith and wife Jackie of St. Simons Island, GA, and his special dog "Bentley". He was preceded in death by his father and infant brother. There will be a private service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, P.O.
