Burlington – Kenneth Ervin Rice, 83 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at the Hospice Home. He was born in Caswell County to the late Thomas Isaac Rice and Annie Gertrude Boswell Rice. He was the husband of Annie McKinney Perry Rice who survives.
Kenneth was the owner and operator of Ken’s Professional Home Maintenance for many years. He spent many happy years working in and around the building trade. Kenneth was a member of Lighthouse Chapel and a former member of Centered Church of Greensboro. Kenneth was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Annie McKinney Perry Rice of the home; daughters, Susan Perdue of Anderson, Karen Irusta and husband, Joel of Archdale, Nikki Stowe and husband, Brett of Thomasville; grandchildren, Kevin Byrd, Emily (Jamie) Buchanan, Rev. Hillary Irusta and her husband, (Jared) Robertson, Jared (Remmie) Irusta, Katie Varner and Hunter Stowe; five great grandchildren; bonus daughters, Teresa Thomas and husband, Stephen of San Antonio, TX, Robin Bunting and husband, Gene, Deborah Arthur and Janice Carter all of Burlington; bonus son, Rev. DL Perry and wife, Michelle of Burlington; twelve grandchildren and thirty-five plus great grandchildren; sisters, Lona Nell Barts and Mary Ann Howell and husband, David; brothers, Glen Rice, James Monroe Rice and wife, Jane.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy McCuiston Rice who died in 2007; daughter, Wendy Rice Balser and a grandson, William Byrd and his parents.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 2:00pm at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. DL Perry. A private graveside service will follow at Alamance Memorial Park by Pastor Joel Irusta. The service will be available to view live on the funeral home website. Kenneth will lie in repose for viewing on Thursday from 8am until time of the service.
