Kenneth Herron

Elon – Ken Herron, 66, died July 29, 2019 at his home in Elon, after a long battle with cancer.

Ken is survived by his wife, Monica of 38 years and his two children, Alex (Mike) McGovern and Connor (Michele) Herron. The pride and joy of his life were his two loving grandchildren, Joseph and Wren McGovern. He also leaves behind his mother, Doris Herron and brother, Keith (Betsy) Herron and his special aunt, Jeannette.

Ken graduated from UNCG in 1980 and went to Officer Candidate School with the US Army. He was stationed in Germany, California and Panama. Ken left the military after 12 years as a Major in 1993. He spent the next 20 years as a Probation Parole Officer with Alamance County and worked at Elon University as a Community Service Officer until May of this year.

Ken will be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit and how he was truly a good husband, father, grandfather and person.

Please join his family in a “Celebration of His Life” on August 17, 2019 at 104 Arbor Dr. Elon, NC 27244. from 6pm until 9pm.
