Kenneth Ashby

Kenneth "Kenny" Ashby, 71, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Alamance Regional Medical Center following a battle with cancer. He was born July 14, 1945 in Benton Harbor, MI to the late George Alfred and Gladys Menges Ashby and was married to Carolyn Kurfirst Ashby for 27 years. Kenny worked as a autobody technician for over 50 years. He enjoyed restoring cars as a hobby. He was also a certified brick mason. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where he loved being part of the church. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Ashby; daughters, Shelli (Mark) Candey, Tracy (Daniel) Abbott, Cindy (Eric) Crawford, Heather (Robert) Lutz; a son Rev. Lewis (Jessica) Brandon; a sister, Patricia Ashby; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
The funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Rev. Briant Cullinane, OFM. Conv. Interment will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 9:30 - 10:45 Monday at the church prior to the funeral and at other times at the home.
