Kemp "Kenny" McKinley Loy, Jr., 63, of Burlington passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at his home. He was born in Alamance County and was the son of the late Kemp M. Loy, Sr. and Norma Mitchell Loy who survives. Kenny was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. He loved camping, the outdoors and music, including singing, playing and writing songs. Kenny also truly enjoyed helping others, always willing to put others before himself. He is survived by his son, Paul Bobbie Loy of Boiling Spring Lakes; grandchildren, Jason William Loy and Abigail Marie Loy; sisters, Karen Bob Bullard of Burlington, Susan Loy of Little River and Lisa Dickie Wright of Siler City and his faithful canine companion and sidekick, "Mr. Dillon". The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday at Friendship United Methodist Church by Rev. Henry Swanzey and Rev. Al Horne with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM Friday prior to the service at the church and other times at his mother's home.
